Michael Addis

As an experienced comedic TV, feature and documentary director, Michael fell into the commercial world late one night when he left a party at the AFI Film Festival.  He was screening his feature comedy doc, HECKLER. Audi was giving away a car to the winner of a contest to direct a spec spot for their Q7. The only problem was, Michael just found out about the contest, and the deadline was in the morning.  So... he directed and edited a spot with no crew, no cast, and just a great idea to film his sleeping kids, pregnant wife and himself... all in five hours. The next morning, the spot was turned in, and won the grand prize! The moment he drove that Audi Q7 out of the parking lot, Michael fell in love with the idea of affecting and influencing people in under a minute.

His specialty became comedy with heart and hidden camera/prank. Michael's commercial work includes a series of Hidden Camera spots for tech giants Toshiba and Intel. His recent credits include a campaign for Super Bowl XLVIII via Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

Before that, Michael spent almost two decades shooting anything comedic. In TV, he directed segments for two hit Comedy Central shows, The Showbiz Show with David Spade and Root of All Evil with Lewis Black. Later, he directed pilots and series for NBC, ABC, A&E, Travel Channel, Lifetime... and Executive Produced the prank show, Hell Date. Michael's most notable successes was directing the pilot for the smash hit Impractical Jokers on truTV. The series was rated the most successful prank show in the history of cable via Nielson and is now in it's fifth season.

When he's not directing TV or commercials, Michael directs comedic indie feature projects such as the aforementioned documentary, HECKLER (Showtime/Netflix), which featured Jamie Kennedy, David Cross, Patton Oswalt, Bill Maher, Rob Zombie, George Lucas and over 100 more interviews. He also wrote and directed the feature, POOR WHITE TRASH (HBO/Netflix), which starred Jamie Pressly, Jason London and Sean Young.

Addis currently lives in Los Angeles with his two young sons, and his Audi.
